Glenda Jo Strand, 87, of Odessa, Texas passed away on November 9, 2025 at Madison Medical Resort. Born on July 29, 1938, in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Glenda was the daughter of Loy Vasco Morris and Clara Oneta Morris. Glenda married Morris Lee Strand on July 31, 1955, in Tucumcari, New Mexico. They moved to Crane, Texas in 1962, where they raised their three girls. Morris and Glenda were devoted members of the Mary Street Church of Christ in Crane.
Glenda enjoyed being a housewife and attending the girls’ school activities. She was involved in 4-H, leading several classes for girls. For several years, she was a court reporter for The Crane News. She always loved writing. Her greatest joys were her children and later in life, spoiling her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. They all loved the time they spent with their Nana!
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Loy Vasco and Clara Oneta Morris; her sister, Mava Morris; and brother, Loy Vasco Morris, Jr. She is also reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Morris Lee Strand and daughter, Darlene Strand.
Glenda is survived by her daughter DiAnna and husband, Mike Joiner of Menard, Texas; daughter, Debbie and husband, Bill Tisdale of Odessa, Texas. Grandchildren – Ladena Perry and husband Stacy Perry of Taft, Texas; Dustin Pope and wife MaLinda Pope of Big Spring, Texas ; Deni Jo Morrison of Winonna, Texas; Tara Pope of Odessa, Texas. Bonus Grandchildren – Jena Tumlin and husband Cody Tumlin of Everett, Washington; Crystal Vasques and husband Abel Vasques of Odessa, Texas; Taharra Benham and husband Beau Benham of Gardendale, Texas; Dallis Fourcher of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Great Grandchildren – Kally Bedingfield and husband Casey Bedingfield; Cydney Petty; Kaitlyn Westmoreland and husband Kolbe Westmoreland; Jonathan Ceballos Pope; Destiny Morris; Oran Morris; Kyler Pope. Great Great Grandchildren – RheaLea and Morgan Westmoreland; Rocklynn Bedingfield.
Visitation will be held at Nichols Funeral Home from 3:00pm – 8:00pm on Thursday November 13th. Services will follow on Friday November 14th at 2:00pm in the chapel at Nichols Funeral Home. Graveside will follow at Crane County Cemetery.
