Glendel "Buddy" Gene Dockery, age 63, of Morgantown, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He was born in Louisville, KY on April 9, 1962. Buddy was a member of the New Beginnings Ministry Church of Morgantown and a maintenance worker for the Morgantown Housing Authority, for over 32 years. Buddy loved spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids also hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents Lendel and Thelma Allen Dockery and one brother Danny Dale Dockery.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy Baize Dockery of Morgantown; one son Buddy Dockery (Aubrey); two daughters Jossie Powell (CW Franzell) and Paisley Dockery all of Morgantown; bonus daughter Alisha Holland (Jon); grandchildren Jayden, Danny, Mason and Kylee Dockery, all from Morgantown, Zachary Medieros from Glasgow, KY and Aspen Williams of Huntsville, AL; bonus grandchildren Desarae, Chloe and Bella Rolley of Greenville, KY, Isaish, Alivia and Rylee Holland all of Morgantown; sister Betty Hunt (Robert) and brother Donald Dockery (Kathy) all from Morgantown; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 2:00pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jayden Dockery, Danny Dockery, Matt Hunt, Nathaniel Henderson, Graysin Henderson, Adam Lacefield and Arlen Blair with Honorary Pall Bearers being Ricky Phelps, Isaiah Holland and Tyrone Rife.
