Glenn E. Anderson, 89, of McAllister passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Rennes Health Center-East where he briefly resided. He was born February 12, 1933 to Harold and Bertha Anderson at the family homestead in McAllister, residing there until the time of his death. Glenn was a 1952 graduate of Wausaukee High School. In 1953 he entered the United States Army, serving 2 years of active duty until 1955, receiving the Korean service ribbon. A proud veteran, he remained part of the Army National Guard until 1960.
In 1958, Glenn married the former Marian Ewald who he said was the best thing that ever happened to him. In earlier years Glenn sailed the Great Lakes and sailed under the Mackinac Bridge during its construction. He worked briefly in West Bend before returning to McAllister. He was employed at Scott Paper Co. in Marinette while continuing to work on the Anderson family farm. Glenn left Scott to work in the woods and eventually established his own business, Anderson Forest Products, which is still operated by his sons. In his later years he enjoyed making maple syrup, gardening and raising cattle.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Marian; their children, Rocky (Patty) Anderson, Cammy (Tom) Grutza, Marty (Sue) Anderson and Gary (Vicky) Anderson; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Roseann) Anderson; 3 sisters, Judi Freis, Donna Lee and Joyce (Clyde) Phillips; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly and Ruth Alice; and many other relatives.
Visitation will be at Community Lutheran Church in McAllister on Thursday, June 16th from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Paul Hueter will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
