Glenn Coates Obituary
Winchester - Glenn Robert Coates, 66, of rural Winchester passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at his home. He was born November 20, 1957 in Jacksonville the son of Robert C. and Anna Brammeier Coates.
He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Prewitt of Jacksonville; his brother, Steven (Kathy) Coates of Jacksonville; three nieces, Cheri (Matt) Orris, Ashley (Teddy) Hembrough and Audrey (Jason) Wardell; one nephew, Jared Smock and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Allen Prewitt.
Glenn, along with his father, had worked for the Morgan County Road District #2 and as a carpenter, having built many houses in the area. He retired from Reynolds Consumer Products where he had worked for over 33 years. He was a member of the Church of Our Saviour. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and going to Sturgis. He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.

I remember going through school with Glenn; elementary, junior high and high-school. Sometimes, we would walk over to his house after elementary school and would hang until my Mom came to get me. Lost touch after high-school when I left the area. Shared some good memories at our high-school reunions. Rest in peace. God's grace, mercy and love to your family and friends.
