Glenn Alva Davis Sr., 95, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the home of his nephew David (Lisa) Davis, who was like a son to him.

Glenn was born on March 4, 1930, in Armstrong, IL, to John Donald and Ethel Alice (Arnold) Davis. He married Dorothy C. Owens on October 16, 1955, in Gifford, IL. She preceded him in death on October 25, 2010.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Boyer of Fort Collins, CO, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Glenn was also preceded in death by his son, Glenn Jr., and three brothers: Loyale D., Ed, and Charlie Davis.

A 1948 graduate of Armstrong High School, Glenn began his career at Pilot Township, serving four years, followed by eight years at the State of Illinois Division of Highway. He later worked at Bohn in Danville for seven years before being elected Blount Township Road Commissioner, a position he proudly held for 21 years. Later, he rejoined Heatcraft (Bohn) as a supervisor until his retirement in 1996.

Glenn was actively involved in the Collison Masonic Lodge #714, Danville Scottish Rite, Gao Grotto, and Moose Lodge. His personal interests included attending auctions, working outdoors, camping, and spending time with David's family. Together in their younger years, he and Dorothy, enjoyed camping trips everywhere from Southern Illinois to Canada, and participating in bus tours across the United States.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be arranged. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Potomac Cemetery. Memorial donations in Glenn's name may be made to the National MS Society. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac to assist in honoring Glenn's life. Condolences may be shared with the family via his memorial page at www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
