Glenn Albert DeBow Jr "Skip" 94 of Manchester died Thursday October 9, 2025 at home with his family. Born in Lakewood he was a life long resident of Jackson before moving to Manchester in 2001. He established the first 2 funeral homes in Jackson. In 1966 he opened the Glenn A DeBow Funeral Home on Veterans Hwy and in 1970 the DeBow Brookwood Memorial Home on Brewers Bridge Rd. He and his wife "Dee" operated the funeral homes until their retirement in 1992. He served as a Corporal in the army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 in the 472nd Engineer Aviation Battalion-Medical Attachment stationed in St Napier, France. He earned his funeral director license & degree from American Academy of Funeral Service, NYC. He was a member of the NJ State Funeral Directors Association, Monmouth & Ocean Funeral Director Assoc. and the National Funeral Directors Assoc. Glenn was very active and was on many boards, Jackson Board of Ethics, the Woodlawn Cemetery Association Board of Trustees, Lakewood, Northern Regional Advisory Board-First National Bank of Toms River. His many philanthropic endeavors included Past President and Board of Directors for the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Jackson Lions Club for 40 years, Jackson Service Director, Jackson, Industrial Development Commission, Jackson Twp 125th Anniversary Committee, Jackson Amvets Post #2, member of the Navy League, Lakehurst, Lakewood First Aid & Emergency Squad, Lakewood American Legion Post #166 for 50 years, Life Member Lakewood Elks Lodge #1432, Exempt Member of the Lakewood Junior Hose Co #3 and Fireman's Association. He was honored for his achievements by the Jackson VFW, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #74 and received a Mayor's Citation for Community Service. Visitation is Wednesday 3-7 PM with a 6 pm service at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Interment is Thursday 11 Am at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Red Cross PO Box 7101 Shrewsbury, NJ 07702
