Glenn Wallace Grooms, fondly known to friends and family as Wally, passed away on August 15, 2024, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia. He was born on June 15, 1961, to Wallace and Betty Sue Stanfield Grooms, and was a lifelong resident of Glennville, Georgia. Wally was a graduate of Glennville High School and embarked on a career as a self-employed carpenter in the construction industry, where he was known for his hard work.
Wally was a man who brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. With his jovial personality, he was often seen as a jokester and he loved to help others or anyone in need.
In his free time, Wally had a variety of hobbies that brought him immense joy. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting. However, nothing compared to the love he had for spending time with his grandchildren. These moments were invaluable to him. He was of the Baptist faith.
Wally is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Grooms and is survived by:

Children, Chris Grooms of Savannah, Georgia
Brad Grooms of Glennville, Georgia
Brandon Grooms (Kaley) of Ludowici, Georgia
Cody Grooms of Claxton, Georgia
Casey Thompson of Glennville, Georgia
Sister, Sherry Smith (DJ) of Reidsville, Georgia
Special Friend, Wally Brannen
Seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Brannen Family Funeral Services. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services with Rev. Brandon Newell officiating.
