In Loving Memory of Glenn Oliver Harmon, Jr.
Glenn Oliver Harmon, Jr., long-time Elder in the Church of God, died peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the age of 90 years old. He was a beloved husband, father and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Glenn was born on February 18, 1934, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Glenn and Hazel Harmon. In his formative years, Glenn worked at a local car garage, which sparked his interest in automobiles and machine mechanics. He went on to serve in the United States Navy in the 1950s. Around this time, Glenn began listening to the broadcast of the Radio Church of God. In the 1960s, the Church was renamed the Worldwide Church of God, and during that time, Glenn was ordained an Elder. He diligently served the congregations in the Pacific Northwest for many decades. Glenn was well-known for his enthusiasm, constant positive attitude, and funny stories and rhymes.
In addition to his service to the Church, Glenn operated successful refrigeration and construction companies for many years. He was recognized for his attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving skills. Glenn embraced each day with joy, bringing his special brand of sunshine wherever he went. He loved spending time with family and friends, always offering guidance, support, and encouragement. He enjoyed restoring cars, leading the congregation in song, and he would occasionally go fishing. He also had a particular fondness for chocolate-marble-rum pie. For now, Glenn rests and awaits the coming Kingdom of God.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Faroll-Ann, and children, Richard (Mary) Harmon, Patricia Harmon, Melinda Harmon, Daniel (Nicole) Graham, Deborah (David) Rand, and Kaye (Michael) Hargrove, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenn was preceded in death by his first wife Marjorie Harmon (1997) and his brother Robert Harmon (2012).
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 1st at 11:00 at Musgrove Mortuaries, West Lawn Memorial Park, 225 S. Danebo Ave, Eugene, OR. Interment will be private.
If you would like to make a donation in remembrance of Glenn, please direct your contribution to Foundation Outreach International (Texas).
Our heartfelt thanks to the medical personnel that cared for Glenn in his final days and hours.

Working at the Face Rock Creamery. Glenn always had a cheery greeting every time I saw him at work. He loved a root beer float and had a big smile when I brought to him. Glenn woukd stop and help with anything we needed. He was a joy to be around.

Loved Glenn like a grandfather, taught me a lot in those years at the cheese factory. One of the few people I know that found real enjoyment in helping others - a rare trait. Was a good man and a great friend. Rest in peace Glenn.

Thank you Glenn, for all your help and direction within your expertise, I don't believe the place would've ever been the same without all your help over the years.

With love and thanks.
Take a rest sir, you earned it.

Glenn was a good friend of my father, Jack Williams, when my dad lived in central Oregon.
