Obituary for Glenn Allen Hummerich
1st Lieutenant (U.S. Army) Glenn Allen Hummerich, age 78, of Ohio, passed away peacefully. He was born on March 19, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert and Margaret Hummerich.
Glenn was the beloved husband of 47 years to Dianne Steward Hummerich. He was a devoted father to Joleen (David) Meece, Bradley (Melissa) Winterod, and Randall (Annie) Winterod. He was a proud grandfather to Zachary (Anna) Meece, Cameron (Margaret) Meece, Maria Meece, Elizabeth (Jacob) Kaiser, and Laura Winterod, and a cherished great-grandfather to Aubrey Meece, Liam Meece, and Lila Meece. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Danny Nowlin of Columbus, Ohio.
A proud combat veteran, Glenn served his country honorably in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. During his service, he earned the Bronze Star along with numerous other commendations in recognition of his bravery and dedication.
Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Glenn returned to Ohio, where he met the love of his life, Dianne. They were married in July 1978 and built a life centered on family, love, and hard work.
Glenn will be fondly remembered for his simple joys and passions, including growing what many would say were the best tomatoes around, cultivating apple trees, and lovingly maintaining his treasured 1979 Ford F-150 truck.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
