Comforter Funeral Home - Port Saint JoeGlenn Nelson, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones. Glenn leaves behind a legacy as a man who truly loved his family and friends more than himself. He delighted in being selfless, always putting others before himself.
Glenn was born the eldest son of F.F. and Lucille Nelson on September 22, 1949. He was soon followed by a brother, Marshall, and the two were raised in a loving, Christian home in Port St. Joe.
As a graduate of Port St. Joe High School (1967), Gulf Coast Community College and Barbizon School of Fashion, Glenn traveled throughout the Southeast while working in the fashion industry, finally settling in Panama City, Florida. Over the following years he worked a variety of jobs and retired from Trane Industries in Lynn Haven, Florida in 2002 to take care of his mother.
His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, friends, and studying God's word.
He was preceded in death by his parents F.F. and Lucille Nelson and his nephew Bryce Nelson.
Glenn is survived by his brother, Marshall Nelson (Tracie); nephews, Reis Nelson (Samantha), Jason Hart (Krista), and Jeremy Hart (Jamie). He is also survived by great nephews and nieces, Hayes, Kallie, Cole, Alivia, Kornelius, and Morgana.
Services will be held at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. under the direction of Comforter Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank their many faithful friends for the prayers and acts of kindness during Glenn's Homegoing.
