Glenn Nolan Obituary
Glenn David Nolan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, entered eternal rest on December 18, 2023. Born on May 15, 1936, to Gillis and Dora (nee Blair) Nolan, in Chad, KY, Glenn lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was proud of his Kentucky roots and developed a deep passion for his beloved UK Wildcats basketball.
Glenn dedicated 35 years of his life at Monsanto Chemical, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. He took great pride in his role and the support he provided to his family through his unwavering dedication.
His love story with Janette Nolan spanned an incredible 69 years, and they often attributed the longevity of their relationship to their shared values of patience and understanding. Glenn's devotion to his family was immeasurable, and he was a pillar of strength and support to his children: Peter (Cathy), Steven Dale (Kathy), Paul (Julie), James (Debbie), and Tom (Marie). As a grandfather, he cherished his role and found immense joy in the love and laughter shared with his nine grandchildren: Curt (Maryann) Nolan, Andy (Megan) Nolan, Stephanie (Ethan) Pedde, Eric (Tiffany) Nolan, Alison (Todd) Sukolsky, David (Mary Kate) Nolan, Kimberly (Sean) Leary, Laura and Abby Nolan; and eleven great-grandchildren: Connor, Mia, Mason, Kelly, Karen, C.J., Blaire, Stella, Theo, Charlotte and Finlay.
Glenn found solace and contentment in his favorite pastimes. He had a green thumb and derived great pleasure from tending to his garden and caring for his yard, ensuring that it remained a tranquil oasis for his loved ones to gather and make lasting memories.
Glenn will be dearly missed by his surviving sisters-in-law, Susie Harris and Gertrude Nolan, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gillis and Dora Nolan, as well as his siblings: G.B. Nolan, Jr., Conrad Nolan, Grace Byles, Mildred Hall, Lorraine Nolan, Patsy Roberts, Kathleen Hogg, Wilma Frazier, Mable Williams and two infant siblings: Bobby Jo Nolan and Enoch Chadwell Nolan
Visitation to celebrate Glenn's life will be held at Brater Winter Funeral Home, located at 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH, on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 10 am until a prayer service at 12 PM. The burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery.
In honor of Glenn's memory, memorials may be made to the Nolan Cemetery Fund. During the visitation, a funeral home representative will be available to accept these thoughtful contributions. If you are unable to attend mail memorial Nolan Cemetery Fund, 330 N. Jefferson St., Harrison, OH 45030.
Glenn David Nolan leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family. His warm smile, gentle nature, and unwavering support will forever be etched in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Glenn, let us carry his memory in our hearts and continue to cherish the values he cherished most - love, family, and the beauty of a life lived with purpose and compassion.
