He was a great man who would help anyone in need. I worked at the shop and track in 1991-1993. I also raced in 1992 in the street class car number 43. The car was a 1973 Dodge swinger we bought from Burt Ladd. It was painted Petty Blue and looked just like King Richards cars. It was a dream of mine as a kid to race a car like that and I did it thanks to Glen Simpkins. I am proud to say I was able to know such a great man! He called me “little yank” I am from Pa. And I just can’t say enough about what a great man he was.

You have been a great neighbor and was always there when we needed help. When I was 8 or 9 years old, you took me for a ride in your race car and I have never forgotten it. Prayers for all of your family and friends through this time.

Reminding you warmly how much others care and would like to bring comfort somehow. And hoping you feel that God's presence is with you, supporting and helping you now. I was never a crapshooter! 7 is not for me. I lost my soulmate, 7 years ago, on the 7th day of February; 7 days before our anniversary. Now I have lost a real good friend on the 7th day of this month. With Deepest Sympathy.

May our lord give grace during the days ahead. I will miss Glen very much. As a 15 year old with a 1955 Ford hobby class car, I was encouraged to keep trying by watching Glen at Wake county and Wilson County Speedway. Years later Glen gave me his old shocks off his last coupe so I could restore a Modified (97) that raced against him. Glen even gave me his helmet so I could hot lap the car at his race track. There are so many memories of such a strong Christian and close friend. Rest In Peace.

Glenn was a good friend and a great competitor. I will never forget the night I put a hole in my oil pan during practice, loaded the car on the trailer and was planning on watching the race that night. Glenn opened his shop and let me use his welder to fix my oil pan so that I could race. What a true friend! Good times and good memories.
