Glenn and I were second cousins, her grandmother, Daisy, and mine, Georgie, having been sisters, and her mother, Germaine, and mine, Kay, having been first cousins. The two branches of the family enjoyed many holiday dinners together during my formative years, and I remember how impressed everyone was by Glenn´s intellect and many accomplishments.
One of my own memories about Glenn was made one day when my Great Aunt Daisy was babysitting me: She opened Glenn´s University of Maine at Orono yearbook, showed me her picture in it, and remarked with pride, "Glenn went to college." It was at that moment that my seven year-old self decided that I wanted to do the same.
Throughout, hers was a life well-lived, for family, for country and for others.
