Glenn Trapp Obituary
Mr. Glenn G. Trapp, 64, of Utica, passed away of Friday, May 6, 2022 at his residence with his loving family and friends by his side.
Glenn was born in Utica, on October 2, 1957, the son of the late Robert and Delphine (Mcloughlin) Trapp. He was raised locally and was a graduate Sauquoit High School. Glenn proudly served in the US Army from 1977 until his honorable discharge in 1988. On May 21, 1994 he was united in marriage to the former Diane Louise Pooley. They had a blessed marriage for 25 years until her passing on January 21, 2019. Glenn was employed for 43 years at West Point Military Academy as a Maintenance Engineer, specializing in carpentry and masonry. After moving back to Utica Glenn worked at Home Depot until his ALS didn't allow him to perform his job any longer. Glen was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed anything to do with hunting, fishing and camping, especially in the Adirondacks. Glen was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Trapp is survived by two sisters Theresa Baker of Marcy, Christina Rugg of Verona Mills, two brothers Nicholas Trapp, Jeffrey Trapp of Utica, Nieces and Nephews Michelle Baker, Larissa Rugg, Kristina Eastman and her husband Zakk, Jessica Hecker, Nicole Weaver, Markie Rugg, very special friend's cousin Billy LaHue and Scott and Debbie Kelley. He was predeceased by a brother Dennis Trapp.
Mr. Trapp's memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 12:00 pm (noon) from Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica, NY., 13502 with Deacon Richard Prusko officiating. Visitation for family and friends will take place prior to memorial service at 11:00 am.
Mr. Trapp's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to doctors, nurses and staff of Hospice and Palliative Care and to the Neurology Department at the Syracuse VA. Memorial contributions in Glenn's name can be considered to ALS Society, 135 Olde Cove Road, Suite 213, Liverpool, NY., 13090.
