Gloria Elaine Ahlgren

Gloria Elaine (Olson) Ahlgren, 101, of Middlefield, wife of the late Robert G. Ahlgren, Sr., passed away on March 15, 2025, at her home. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Hjalmar "Ferd" and Ilene (Josephson) Olson.
Gloria lived in Middlefield most of her life. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Middletown where she was part of the Martha Unit. She worked at Wilcox & Crittenden Manufacturing which then became North & Judd Manufacturing for many years. She loved her exercise class in Middlefield, enjoyed knitting and sewing, and decorating for every holiday. Gloria was on her lawn mower into her later years and was an avid UCONN Basketball fan and New York Yankee fan. To say red was Gloria's favorite color would be an understatement. Gloria was a cherished mother and adored Gram by her grandchildren who loved spending time with her.
Gloria is survived by her son Robert G. Ahlgren, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Middlefield; a daughter Cheryl E. Levesque and her husband Michael of Middlefield; three grandchildren Jesse Ahlgren (Kim), Kristen Schlicker Chen (Darren Chen) and Carl Schlicker (Bridgette); six grandchildren Caden, Aaron, Chase, Riley, Grace, and Caroline and a nephew Kenneth Olson of Georgia.
Along with her husband and parents, Gloria was predeceased by two brothers Donald Olson and Royal Olson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28th at 11:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Middletown. A burial will follow in Middlefield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria's memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 300 Washington Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
