Gloria Auker was born March 21, 1937 in Santa Rosa, California. The Vinciguerra family of William and Adeline with their four children (Billy, Betty, the twins; Bobbi & Gloria) moved up north to Portland, Oregon and settled in the Sellwood neighborhood in 1943.

She attended Sellwood Grade School and Cleveland High School, graduating class of 1955. She purchased a home in the nearby Moreland neighborhood and eventually refinished the outside to resemble a wooden log cabin.

Married to Gerald "Jerry" Auker in 1983, whom they both went to Cleveland High School together and began dating after their 25th class reunion in 1980.

She worked for the RTE Corporation for many years, USF Reddaway shipping and the family owned portrait and wedding studio, Jerry Auker Photography with her late husband.

She went on two European trips touring Scandanavia in 1994 and Italy in 1996 with her 'younger' twin sister.

Professionally she was a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), attending the 1986 national convention in Anaheim, California. Furthermore, she was a also part of the statewide Professional Photographers of Oregon (PPoO) and a Founding member of the citywide Portland Metropolitan Photographer's Association (PMPA) in 1988 serving on the board of directors during it's formative years.

An avid golfer she tee'd off on Tuesdays with the 9-Holers, a group of retired ladies that play weekly at the Eastmoreland Golf Club.

Early every Thursday morning she would breakfast with her fellow Rotarians of the Central East Portland Rotary Club, District 5100 for which she was club President in 2007-2008. She attended the Rotary International Conventions in Osaka, Tokyo in 2004 and Salt Lake City, Utah in 2007.

She volunteered for many MDA Summer Camps, loved to host barbecue socials in her home's back yard for the local clubs and associations she belonged to and walking her dog on the beach.

Gloria passed on the morning of Friday, March 27th, having recently celebrating her 89th birthday. She is survived by her twin sister, Barbara, her son, Patrick and her beloved dog, Trixie. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association ( MDA.org) in her name.
