Gloria Jean Buzzard

Gloria Jean Buzzard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Wilkes Medical Center, at the age of 78.
Gloria was born on July 1, 1947, in Kanawha County, West Virginia, to the late William Cartwright and Urata Miller Cartwright. She was a woman of remarkable strength and kindness, whose bright spirit and warm smile touched the lives of everyone she met.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, James Cartwright; sister, Diana Sue Cartwright; son, William Shilling; grandson, Cameron Brown; and granddaughter, Jessica Singleton.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Calvin Buzzard, of the home; her son, Harold Shilling (Lynn) of West Virginia; and a daughter and caregiver, Urata Singleton of the home and daughter Diana Lopez (fiancé Joel Cerda) of Clemmons. She is also survived by her brother, Chuck Cartwright of West Virginia; grandchildren Rex, Victor, Evan, Curtis, Ashley, Terri, Christina, Rachel, Sara, and Kato; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
Gloria will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and the joy she brought to those around her.
