**In Loving Memory of Gloria "Bubbles" Decker**
Gloria Decker, a guiding light of love, laughter, and unshakable joy, passed away peacefully in her home on November 13th, surrounded by the comfort of a life well-lived. Born on March 12, 1950, to Gene and Patty (Bauch) Goolsbey, Gloria was the eldest of eight children, growing up with a sparkling spirit that earned her the nickname "Bubbles."
As a sister, Gloria was the home support system, caring deeply for her three younger brothers and four sisters while playfully keeping them all in line. Her siblings could always rely on her warmth, home cooked meal, and sometimes a bit of "big sister bossiness," making her both a friend and role model in their lives.
Gloria began her education at Hamlin Country School, later attending Geneseo, and graduating from Milnor High School in 1968. Shortly after, she married Merril Decker on November 29, 1969, embarking on an incredible journey as a devoted wife, mother, and eventually, grandmother. The proud mother of three spirited sons-Shane, Kellen, and Caden-she never missed a chance to remind others that each of her boys became a Homecoming King, and each had inherited her love of fun and good company.
Gloria's vibrant spirit and positive energy made her a beloved presence in the hospitality industry throughout her career. She brought joy and entertainment to customers at Milnor Improvement, Lidgerwood, North Forty, and Milnor Grocery Store. Wherever she went, Gloria's love for providing exceptional, over-the-top service shined through, making every interaction memorable. Her warmth and enthusiasm were a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
An extraordinary cook and hostess, Gloria's home was always open to family and friends. She thrived on entertaining, whipping up feasts for any occasion and welcoming everyone with her infectious smile and open heart. She loved a house full of laughter and had a gift for making sure each guest felt like family.
A competitor at heart, Gloria was a fierce card player and game lover, an enthusiasm she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She bowled for years with her team first in Gwinner and later in Lidgerwood, and when on the softball field, she was unstoppable as a Delamere Demon. Her passion extended to the stands, where she cheered on her sons and later her grandchildren in football, basketball, and volleyball with an unmatched energy.
Gloria's storytelling was legendary, captivating her audience with tales that brought both laughter and tears. Known as "Crazy G" by her nieces and nephews, she could light up any room with her antics and had an uncanny ability to make every gathering memorable. Her husband, Merril, AKA "Big Daddy", knew better than anyone that life with Gloria was full of surprises, and he wouldn't have had it any other way.
Becoming "GG" to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought Gloria immeasurable joy. Whether planning games, buying treats, or simply offering her boundless love, she was a grandmother like no other. Her home was a place of adventure and comfort, and her grandchildren cherished every moment they spent with her.
Gloria's larger-than-life personality made her unforgettable to anyone who met her. She radiated happiness and was always ready with a joke, a hug, or a plate of food. Her family will miss her dearly, but the joy, laughter, and warmth she brought to their lives will live on forever in their hearts.
**Forever cherished, never forgotten-Gloria "Bubbles" Decker's light will continue to shine in the lives she touched.**
She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Merril; sons Kellen (Brooke) and Caden (Brianna); daughter in law Deb; grandchildren Riley (Taylor) Nohl, Durgin Decker, Leon Decker, Linkin Decker, Lennox Decker; 2 great grandchildren Decker Nohl and Sig Nohl; brothers Tim Goolsbey and Scott Goolsbey; sisters Dani Dahlstrom, Nancy (Rich) Prante, Kari (Steve) Krause, Kelly (Lee) Sagvold; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and an uncle.
