Gloria C. Dilao was a passionate nurse, mother, and friend. She dedicated her life to helping those in need whether it be through her patients at her clinic, her support of numerous charitable organizations, or simply providing a fresh, warm meal to those in need. When she was not helping patients, you could find her tending to her flowers, plants and vegetables, or in her dining room sewing or watching historical documentaries. Throughout her life, her friends, family, and patients benefited from her sharp mind, keen wit, and radiating positivity. Gloria passed away in her home on October 15th, 2025.
Gloria Dilao was born on June 7th, 1947 in Masbate, Philippines to Pedro and Felicidad Dilao. She was a graduate of Arellano University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1970 before immigrating and proudly becoming a United States citizen in 1984. Gloria continued her education in the United States receiving a Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Services from the University of Detroit-Mercy before earning her Ph.D.
Gloria touched the lives of numerous patients throughout her illustrious career. She served numerous roles within the healthcare profession, beginning as a nurse in the greater-Detroit area before becoming the Operating Room Director at Harper University Hospital. After continuing her education, Gloria opened her own clinic, Life Sciences RDD Services, treating patients with her patented rapid drug detox procedure. She continued helping patients with addiction until her passing. She will be laid to rest in the Philippines.
Most important to Gloria was her family. She was a devoted mother to Maritoni, and eldest sister to her 13 siblings: Joel, Pedro Jr., Venus, Jesus, Adonis, Philip, Eduardo, Vilma, Nova, Baltazar (deceased), Ronnie (deceased), Roy (deceased), and Gally (deceased).
Above all, Gloria found the utmost happiness in giving to others. She routinely gave to numerous charitable organizations while supporting her daughter and her family in the Philippines. Gloria was truly one of a kind and cherished by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends Monday, November 3, 2025 from 3-8PM with a 7PM Vigil at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road (between Maple & Big Beaver Roads), Troy, (248) 362-2500.
Funeral Mass Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 10AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon Street, Birmingham. Visitation at church begins at 9:30AM.
