Gloria Gallegos Obituary Gloria Gallegos, a cherished pillar of her family and community, passed away peacefully at her home in
Orange, California, on April 17, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on November 1, 1947, in Yuma, Arizona, Gloria's life was a vibrant tapestry of love, dedication, and service, woven through the years from her childhood in Arizona to her final days in California.
Gloria's early years were spent in the warm embrace of the Southwest, where she attended local schools and blossomed into a young woman of remarkable character. It was here that she met the love of her life, George Gallegos. The couple's romance and commitment to one another had to be proven to her parents before marriage could occur which led to a lifelong partnership, and they were inseparable for over 50 years until George's passing in 2010.
Gloria's professional path was marked by a 24-year tenure with the Orange Unified School District, where she excelled in administration and transportation. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the many lives she touched through her role.
Beyond her professional achievements, Gloria's passions painted a portrait of a woman who embraced life with both arms. She was a devoted matriarch and caregiver, opening her home and heart to anyone in need. Her love for travel often found her on the road, heading to casinos with her family for a shared adventure, her laughter and joy echoing in the hearts of those who accompanied her.
A fan of reality TV, Gloria relished in the drama and culinary exploits of the Housewives and Gordon Ramsey. These shows provided endless entertainment and fodder for lively discussions with her family, who shared in her enthusiasm. Her nights were often spent as a night owl, watching tv and enjoying quiet time. She enjoyed sleeping in and starting her day savoring a cup of coffee and doing a crossword puzzle.
Gloria's meticulous nature was evident in every aspect of her life. Everything had its place, including herself. Her home was a testament to her attention to detail, and her appearance was always impeccable. She was a woman who cared deeply about her surroundings and the impression she left on the world.
Family was Gloria's anchor and guiding star. She is survived by her adoring son, George P. and his wife Claudia, her daughters Lisandra and her husband David Castro, Frances Gallegos, and her cherished grandchildren, Eric Silva, Melissa Moreno, Chris Castro, Joseph Gallegos, Jered Gallegos, Joshua Gallegos, Diego Salazar, and Eliana Salazar. Her legacy continues to shine in the bright eyes of her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Gilmore and Benson Moreno.
Gloria's departure was preceded by her beloved husband, George Gallegos, whose memory remained a source of strength and comfort to her until the end.
Those who knew Gloria will remember her as a loving, passionate, and analytical soul, a woman whose fiery spirit and boundless love left an indelible mark on the world. Her life was a testament to the power of devotion, the warmth of kinship, and the unwavering strength of the human spirit.
