Gloria Lee Greif

Gloria Lee (Thompson) Greif, 89, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. Born in Oneida, TN to her parents Leo & Clarice Thompson, she grew up in Cincinnati, OH. At 21, moved to NYC to work as a flight attendant for American Airlines before marrying & settling in Bridgewater, NJ. Gloria's love of architecture led her to design & build her dream home, a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home where she raised her family for over 40 years. Gloria was an avid golfer & member of Raritan Valley Country Club, and a founder member of Querencia Golf Club in Los Cabos, MX. Gloria's passion was gardening and being outdoors, enjoying the beach and lake, swimming and spending summers boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH and winters golfing in Cabos San Lucas, MX for many years. She especially loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald, (2009) of 50 years, her daughter, Tina Greif Carlson (2000), sisters Jane Campbell and Billie Jean Smith.
Surviving are her sons Donald (Jeanne), Craig, and daughter Holly, her brother Bill Thompson and grandchildren Nicole (Andy), Brenden (Klara), Faith (Travis), Alex, Madison (Ben), Logan and Cameron, and three great grandchildren Brooks, Chase and Wells.
Graveside services will be held at the chapel at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge on Saturday, January 17 @ 11:30am. Arrangements by Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville, NJ.
