Gloria Jean Haven (nee Allen) 71 of Ravenna passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at UH Portage Medical Center with her children and their spouses by her side. She was born October 7, 1951, in Ravenna to late Leroy and Bertha L. (Sabo) Allen. Gloria was the Director of Energy Efficiency & Housing Services for Community Action Council of Portage County, from where she retired after 42 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and watching her only great grandchild, Grayson. She was exceptionally talented at crocheting baby blankets, which she has made hundreds for family and friends' babies, including baby cloths, scarves, hats, and Barbie cloths. Survivors include her children Regina (Ben) Holliday and Matt (Carol) Haven, grandchildren Jessica Haven, Justice Haven, and Brendon Haven, great grandson Grayson Haven and siblings Alice Marie Landwert, Joey Allen, a host of nieces and nephews. Gloria was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Leroy "Jack" Allen, Charles Allen, Bruce Allen, and sister Linda Caraballo. Memorial visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Memorials should be made to the Kidney Foundation or Portage County Community Action Council. Condolences and memories of Gloria may be shared at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
