Gloria Jean Haywood

Gloria Jean Haywood, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born in Florida, but was a long time resident of Candler County, GA, and a graduate of Metter Highschool, class of 1974. She and her husband have resided in Statesboro the last twelve years. Gloria worked for Allen’s Plumbing and Electrical, and in her free time enjoyed the beach, shopping and camping with her family. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her sister, Lynn Bird. 

Those who will cherish her memory include her husband, Tommy L. Haywood of Statesboro, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Ricky Weisgerber of Jacksonville, FL; brother, and sister-in-law, Ricky and Debra Prince of Metter, GA; and her grandson, Christopher Sapp of Jacksonville, FL. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Deal Funeral Directors from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. 

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Deal Funeral Directors.

 Interment will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church in Candler County. 

Pallbearers will be Colin Curry, Josh Curry, Matt Daughtry, Josh Harper, Cale Holloway, and Keith Lyons.
