Born in Pottstown, PA, on June 2, 1947, Gloria was the daughter of the late Ruth (Detwiler) DeWalt.
Gloria graduated from Spring-Ford Area High School and began her career as a legal secretary for Reynier, Crocker, Allebach & Reber, PC in Pottstown. She later joined the Pottsgrove School District, where she worked in the office for 18 years before retiring in 2020.
Gloria enjoyed her trips to the casino, especially trying her luck at the slot machines, and she also liked doing scratch-off lottery tickets. Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life, and she loved being part of their lives and celebrating their milestones. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, and "Grammy," and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Gloria is lovingly remembered by her husband, David; her children, David (Kelly) Hicks Jr., Michelle (Brian) Hurst, and Kevin Hicks; and her grandchildren, David III, Gabriel, Hunter, Lucas, Emma, Madison, and Matthew.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration of Gloria's life will follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria's memory to Soroptimist International of Pottstown, 738 Duckworth Dr., Pottstown, PA 19464.
