Gloria Malnak Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farnelli Funeral Home - Williamstown on Apr. 23, 2024.
On Sunday, April 21, 2024, our beloved mother Gloria Di Leonardi Malnak transitioned peacefully with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Gloria Malnak was born on December 15 in Chicago, IL to the late George Anthony and Dorothy Elizabeth. Gloria grew up in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side and graduated from Steinmetz High School and then earned her Associate's Degree from Wright Junior College.
After college graduation, she started her career at Admiral Corporation where she was a C-suite executive assistant. At Admiral she met the love of her life – Lew Malnak. On February 22, 1958 they were married and were blessed to celebrate 45 years of marriage before Lew passed in April 2003. Gloria and Lew shared an unconditional love, many adventures and milestones but none were more important to her than her three children: Sheri, Norm and Renee. The Malnak house was always packed with kids and activities – she was the 'coolest mom' in the neighborhood.
After her children were grown, she embarked on a second career as registrar at Burlington County College (BCC) where she cared deeply and worked tirelessly to help students and faculty. She impacted hundreds of lives at BCC by her loving and caring nature. During this time, she became a grandmother (Nana) to her four grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
But mostly she loved people, relationships and enjoying others. Mom was loyal, persistent and loving. When she entered a room she commanded it and naturally drew people to her.
Mom was a force and lived life to the fullest seeking to enjoy all that God had available for her to do. God blessed her with an infectious smile that lit up every room she entered and endeared her to everyone that experienced it. She used that gift right up to the very end of her life. Mom's belief in God, family and never quit attitude were foundational to her core and all that she touched. She made our world a better place and we will always be grateful for her.
Beloved wife and best friend for over 45 years of Lewis; loving mother of Sheri (Mike); Renee; Norm (Diane); adoring grandmother of Lisa, Julie, Nikki and Michael; dear sister of the late Joseph (Carol) Di Leonardi, Arthur (Bobbi) Di Leonardi, Joyce Cox-Cunningham and George (the late Rory) Di Leonardi; (sister-in-law of Woody Cunningham) and the late Steve Cox; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, June 22nd 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, 42 West Main St, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Inurnment will be private.

Gloria was my sister in law through marriage. She was one of the kindest and most genuine persons I have known. She and her husband Lew were very supportive to me and my husband when we got married and I will be forever grateful to them and their children, always. My deepest sympathies go out to Norman, Sheri, and Rene. I have very fond memories of the times my husband and I spent together with Gloria and her family. May she be reunited with Lew and my husband Allen.

Gloria is my brother Michael Renn's wife Sheri's mother. Gloria was and is an always caring, loving soul. Whenever I spoke with her she was always jubilant and caring in personality, always upbeat. She would always ask how the families well being was. Her favorite movie I remember was "The Apartment" starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine in 1960. It is a classic story of love, courage, and humanity, it also one of my favorite all time movies. I enjoyed Gloria's company and compassionate insight, she is with the Lord Jesus Christ now, and we will see her again one day gratefully, until then we will miss her greatly.
