She was born on June 1, 1953 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of James and Helen "Hattie" (Gilson) Gates. Gloria was a 1971 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. She received her associate's degree in science from the University of Wisconsin Rock County. Gloria married Darryl L. Osen on October 7, 1978 at First United Methodist Church in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on August 22, 2013.
Gloria was formerly employed by Beloit Corporation and retired from K-Mart after 28 years. She then became the go to gal for electronics and phones at Walmart. Gloria enjoyed bowling and loved tending to her flowers and her yard.
Survivors include her son, James (Melissa) Osen of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, David and Josalyn Peck-Gritzmaker; very special aunt and friend, Phyllis Osen; brothers-in-law, Greg (Christine) Osen of Rockford, IL and Ron "Rick" Hanson of Beloit, WI; lifelong friends, Teresa Blum Hinds and Sharis Bailey; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and her beloved dog, Hattie.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents; husband; brother, Richard Gates; sister-in-law, Nancy Hanson; uncle, Babe; nephew, Glenn Hanson; and her beloved dog, Buffy.
A Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
A memorial will be established in Gloria's name at a later date.
