Gloria Jean Sanders

Gloria Jean Belknap-Sanders born on August 9th, 1947, passed away peacefully on April 19th, 2025 at the age of 77. She now joins her beloved husband, Clayton Lee Sanders; her father, Okey Thomas Belknap; her mother, Opal Belknap (Mitchell); and her brother, Dale (Connie) Belknap in eternal rest.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Rachell Keenan (William). Gloria had 11 grandchildren, Grace, Seth, Rebekkah, Caleb, Jared, Daniel, Naomi, Anna, Serah, Faith and Samuel; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Kerry Belknap, with whom she shared a special connection; great-nephew, Zachery; her cousin, Suzy Salisbury; and Suzy's daughter, Sarah.

For over 40 years Gloria dedicated her professional life to Kent State University. Her faith was a part of her life beautifully expressed through her love of music in playing the piano. She was an active member of Maranatha Bible Church and was involved in the SALT ABF class at the church.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 10am-12pm. Her funeral service will begin at 12pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305). She will then be laid to rest at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio.
