Gloria Mae (Bittle) Scheirer, 97, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died October 15, 2025 at Country Meadows, Wyomissing.
She was the widow of Denton E. Scheirer, who passed away in 2002.
Born November 21, 1927, in Cressona, she was a daughter of the late Earl W. and Mae R. (Clouser) Bittle.
Gloria was a 1945 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
She was employed with Western Electric for a number of years, and various hosiery mills.
Gloria was a faithful member of Alsace Lutheran Church, where she volunteered with the soup kitchen, and was a member of the Senior Club Planning Committee.
She was also a member of John Hepler Chapter #521 - Order of Eastern Star, Reading, where she served as a past worthy matron from 1970-1971.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Gloria was the mother of Susan M., wife of Robert W. Gosch of Spring Township and Deborah L., wife of Brian J. Good of Penn Township.
She was the grandmother of: Michael D. Gosch (Greta), Jeffrey R. Gosch (Michelle), Andrew J. Good (Holly), Peter J. Good (Courtney), Adam J. Good (Chelsea), and Nathan J. Good (Mandey), and the great grandmother of: Connor, Ella, Zoey, Juliette, Jillian, Alex, Hailey, Brantley, Wesley, Maevin, Britton, Ayah, Evelyn, Ellie, Daniel, Maya, and a little boy, "Micah," on the way.
Services will be held Thursday, October 23rd at 11 a.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow at Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
The family of Gloria would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Country Meadows and Grane Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: AG World Missions, to support (Gloria's grandson) Peter & Courtney Good's church building project in Thessaloniki, Greece.
