Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2024 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday July 20, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Born on February 24, 1944 in Gainesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph C. and Estelle Hulsey Whitmire.
She worked at Southern Bell at an early age and retired from there as it had been renamed to Bellsouth and merged into AT&T. She was of the Christian faith and offered love to everyone she met.
In addition to her parents, Miss Whitmire was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Whitmire and Jimmy Whitmire.
Miss Whitmire is survived by her sister, Jeanette Kesler of Gainesville, GA and she had five beloved nieces and nephews and 10 beloved great nieces and great nephews. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by those who truly knew her.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Rd., Gainesville, Ga. 30504 is in charge of the arrangements.

Her beautiful curly hair, which she wasn't particularly fond of. Mrs. Whitmire would send her to school with her curls fixed perfectly but Gloria Ann did NOT like it. We sat together on the bus sometimes and, as a stringy-headed blonde, I admired her hair so much. See, even back in the forties and early fifties, we had opinions!!!
