The family of Gloris Ann Wilson wishes to pay tribute to our beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Cousin. Gloris Ann Wilson was born on February 24, 1937, in
Talladega, Alabama, to the union of Walter and Mary Lou (Jemison) Curry-Applin. She was a twin and was affectionately known by family and friends as "Duba."
Gloris became a member of Jennifer Church of Christ in Munford, Alabama. After moving to Columbus, Ohio, she joined Mound Street Church of Christ, and later Miller Avenue Church of Christ. She also enjoyed visiting Watkins Road Church of Christ.
As a devoted Christian woman, Gloris carried herself with grace, humility, and quiet strength. Her faith was not only something she believed but something she lived each day through compassion, generosity, and sincere care for others. She had a gentle and genuine spirit that made people feel welcomed and valued, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Gloris dedicated many years of service to the healthcare field and retired from nursing at Dr. Kaplan Nursing Home in Columbus, Ohio, after 25 years of service. She was also a determined and successful entrepreneur. Through dedication, resourcefulness, and an unwavering work ethic, she built a respected and well- established cleaning business that served many throughout the community. Her professionalism, reliability, and pride in her work earned the trust and admiration of those she worked with for many years. She believed in building something meaningful through honest effort and perseverance.
Above all, Gloris was the heart and matriarch of her family. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and extended family ran deep and wide. She nurtured those around her with patience, wisdom, and an open heart, always offering encouragement, guidance, and
unwavering support. Family gatherings, shared laughter, and simple moments of togetherness were among the things she cherished most.
