Goldie Angell Caldwell, age 83, of Roanoke and formerly of Boones Mill, unexpectedly left this earthly home, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 23, 2023.
Goldie was a kind-hearted Christian woman, a loving wife and mother, loving grandmother, and a friend to many. She was always willing to help anybody that needed it.
She loved giving hugs and shared them with everyone she came in contact with. She will truly be missed by everyone.
Goldie was a member of Boones Mill Baptist Church.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, George Taylor and Essie Mae Angell; her husband of 45 years, Lynwood Earl Caldwell, Sr; her brothers, Caleb Angell. Hatcher Angell, J.D. Angell, Harry Angell, Russell Angell, and Roosevelt Angell; a sister, Fannie Maxey, along with a grandson, Trevor Via.
Goldie is survived by her daughters, Donna Caldwell of the home, Dianna Via (Rick), Wirtz, VA. and son Lyn Caldwell III (Kim) Moneta, VA; grandchildren, Megan McDonald (Brady), Phillip Via (Janice), Jordan Caldwell (Hannah), and Andrew Caldwell (Amaya), and a God given grandson, G.W. Frith (Hiliary); great grandchildren, Reese, Aubrey, and Emelyn McDonald, and Jace Via; and a sister Annie Mae Boitnott (James); a very special friend, Jody Hammje; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, October 27, 2023 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Steele and Dr. Richard D. Harrell, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow after the services in the Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home.
