GOLDIE MAE HENDRICKS was born to the late Edgar Hendricks, Sr. and Eva Kimble Hendricks on August 12, 1934, in Halifax County, North Carolina. She departed this physical life and received her heavenly wings on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in
Charlotte, North Carolina, with her daughter and grandchildren by her side.
During her early life, Goldie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, became a member of the White Oak Baptist Church in Enfield, North Carolina, and remained a faithful Christian throughout her life.
Goldie received her formal education in the Halifax County Public School System and graduated from the former Eastman High School in Enfield, North Carolina, with the class of 1955.
Goldie will be forever remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her passion for planting flowers, gardening, and cooking. She possessed a warm and sweet spirit which was always reflected in the kind loving manner that endeared her to the lives of those she touched in so many special ways.
In addition to her parents. Goldie was preceded in death by two sons, Calvin Leon Hendricks and Timothy Noah Hendricks; her sister, Ezell Hendricks; two brothers, Edgar Hendricks, Jr. and John H. Hendricks; and one nephew, Ron Hendricks.
Those remaining to share everlasting memories of her life and to treasure the legacy of her love are her daughter, Caroline Hoke of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Kayla Hoke, Kelsey Hoke, and Kamoria Hoke all of Charlotte, NC, Lavonte Taylor of Littleton, NC, Cateria Brewer of Garysburg, NC, and Jaylan Hendricks of Castalia, NC; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Brewer of Garysburg, NC, and Kiyhla Williams of Littleton, NC; her one remaining nephew, John Jefferson (Audrey) of Ita, NC, whom she loved as a son and looked forward to his visits every day after work. Even during her failing health, she enjoyed his daily phone calls and would end each conversation by saying, "Craig, I MAY GIVE OUT, BUT I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!!!"; a very special friend, Clara Jones of Enfield, NC, with whom she bonded an everlasting friendship over fifty years ago; and a host of other relatives, special friends and neighbors whose company she truly enjoyed.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service time in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. Pastor Felix Petteway will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 6054 Bowers Road, Littleton, NC. Because of Covid-19, the wearing of masks and social distancing will be practiced at the discretion of each individual.
