Our loving father, Mr. Gopal Lakshmi Narasimhan, passed peacefully on February 22nd, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was 86 years old. An editor and journalist by profession, he continued working well past retirement for several years. He was a true "Karma Yogi", believing in lending a helping hand to whomever needed it. He was always rightful in action and was never attached to the results. He loved tasting different cuisines, listening to K.L Saigal songs, and reading about current events. Above all, he loved his children immensely and instilled in them a love for reading and learning. His family is very grateful for this special time with him these past few years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kumari Gopal, and loving daughters Rajshri Venkatesan (Venkatesan Srinivasan), Madhumati Gopalachari (Sampath Gopalachari), Amritha Gopal Karkera (Prashanth Karkera), and Anusha Singh (Niraj Singh). His grandchildren also carry on his legacy: Janitra Venkatesan Shah (Rohan Shah), Mira Sampath, Sabda Karkera, Vishnu Iyengar, Anira Singh, Krishvi Singh, and great granddaughter Layana Rohan Shah.
Although he will be dearly missed by his family and everyone whose lives he touched, we know he has moved on to a better place to experience "something new", as dad would always say when tasting a new dish.
