Gordon Eugene Evard, age 68 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 8:08 A.M. on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the funeral home. The family will be present beginning at 10:00 A.M. for visitation prior to the service. Military Honors will be conducted at 9:45 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home by American Legion Post #211.

Gordon was born on April 27, 1957, in Paris, Illinois, to Milton Eugene and Myrtle Marie (Gorman) Evard. He married Vivian (White) Evard on May 13, 1978; she preceded him in death on October 21, 2019. He later married Cathie Jeisy in Paris on April 1, 2022, and she survives.

Gordon proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Throughout his life, he worked in a variety of roles, including as a driver for Coca-Cola, a laborer at GSI, and an NC Operator and industrial maintenance worker for Trailmobile. He later retired from Great Dane Trailers as an industrial maintenance worker.

Gordon loved camping and could often be found tinkering with mowers or working with his hands on construction projects. He also enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, Sudoku, and riding his bike, and he adored his puppies. Gordon was a jokester who loved to make people laugh; he had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile that could brighten anyone's day. He especially cherished the holidays, listening to Christmas music and watching Hallmark movies were among his favorites. Above all, Gordon treasured time spent with his family. He was his grandkids' number one fan and biggest supporter, and he was always there whenever someone needed him.

He is survived by his wife, his children: Josh Evard (Brandi), Jeremy Evard (Anna), Jason Evard, all of Paris; his grandchildren: Cameron Raney, Alexandria Cundiff (Austin), Makayla Hussong, Leland Evard, Justin Evard, Jurzie Evard, Zephan Evard, Elizabeth Evard, Izabella Evard; his great grandchildren: Zayden Johnson, and Colton Cundiff; his sisters: Marcia Elliott-Maldonado and Lisa Camitsch; his bonus sons: Christopher Kelmel (Tina) and Derek Kelmel; his bonus grandchildren: Ryan (Jennifer), Laney (T.J.), Karsyn, Nolan, Spencer, and Pheonix; his bonus great grandson, Henry; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gordon was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian (White) Evard; his parents, Milton and Myrtle Evard; and his sister, Jeanna Evard Weaver.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christmas For Kids through Lakeridge Christian Church.

Cathie & family,

We were saddened at the news of Gordon's passing. Please know you're in our thoughts and prayers. May God comfort your grieving hearts as only He can. Gordon will be truly missed! We were blessed to have known him.

I (James) had the privilege of meeting him when I hired in at Great Dane. In fact, I learned alot from him, as he was my trainer. We had many years working together, and even celebrated our retirements together. I was further privileged to call him my friend. I'm very thankful for the memories made, and the times we got to visit post-Great Dane as well.

Cathie, we were so glad when you found one another. We will never forget the first time we saw you together - we knew he had found happiness. He was just beaming, and it looked so good on him! Thank you for loving him, and being so good to him
