Gordon David Kasper, a cherished soul whose brilliance illuminated the lives of many, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Fremont, Michigan. Born on May 17, 1939, in Rapid City, South Dakota, Gordon graced this world for over eight decades with an extraordinary spirit, marked by an amazing sense of humor and an unparalleled ability to fix nearly anything that came his way.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Gordon served his country from 1959 to 1963, embodying the values of dedication and honor that characterized his life. Following his military service, he embarked on a fruitful career as a manufacturing engineer with Ruskin Manufacturing, later sharing his expertise at Lowes, where he continued to make an indelible mark through both his professional contributions and personal interactions.
Gordon married his beloved wife, Karen, and together they nurtured a warm and loving home. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Michelle and Cheryl, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and laughter. The bonds he formed with his family extended to his cherished sister Waunda, and they are echoed in the hearts of his grandchildren - Amanda, Calvin, Arron, Kalob, and Amelia - as well as his great-grandchildren, Brantley, Carter, Axton, Lilly, Ezra, Justyn, and Rea, who provided him with immeasurable joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his dear sister Roberta and brothers Ralph and Rudy, with whom he shared countless moments of love and laughter throughout his life.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Gordon David Kasper, let us remember the warmth of his laughter, the wisdom of his words, and the strength of his spirit. A memorial luncheon honoring his profound impact on all who knew him will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Crossroads Church in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Friends, family, and all whose paths were crossed by his light are invited to come together to reflect, reminisce, and honor the remarkable journey of a truly exceptional man.
