Gordon Van "Scott" Patten

Gordon "Scott" Van Patten, age 66, a longtime Howell resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at home, after a hard-fought battle with numerous health issues. He was born February 6, 1958, in Lansing, one of 10 children, of Forrest and Elizabeth (Wilson) Van Patten. He is survived by his wife Lynn (Soos), his beloved dog Lucy Lou, sister Joann Skaggs, sister-in-law's Paula Kobylski, Heidi Soos Bryant, Eileen Soos, Pat Van Patten, Cheryl Van Patten, Fran Murphy, Dee Haskell; brother-in-law's William Soos, Roderick Soos, James Kobylski, Don Bryant, Garland Wells; and many nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by his parents Forrest and Elizabeth (Wilson) Van Patten, sisters Gloria Van Patten, Connie Wells, Janet (Larry) Mollitor, brothers Moyne, Jeff, Gary, Harold (Bud), James Van Patten, brother-in-law Michael Skaggs. Scott was a 1976 graduate of Howell High School and was employed in restaurant and party store management. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, cooking, grilling, and the company of his many friends. A memorial gathering will be held Friday, February 23, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, MacDonald's Chapel of Howell.
