Saddened by the passing of Gordon ,who was a friend of my Dad from school in Grand Falls. I met Gord when he and my father received the Order of Canada in 1998 and once before during the Rowdyman filming.
A lovely man, funny ,kind and dedicated to his craft. His personality and character will be missed.

Just watched the rowdy man on my lap top. Reviewed it again, wish it was on Netflix. Best movie, music and his acting. Keep your happy memories. Time heals. We never met. Loved Newfoundland especially the people.
So sorry for your loss.

I am so proud to say I am from the same hometown. I know his family but didnt know him personally. He made it an honour to say I am a Newfoundlander. The Banks of Newfoundland will be stiller tonight. This man was one of my favorite actors. He was equally skilled in both comedy and dramatic roles. I watched Away From Her again Last Night and was so moved by his performance. He was so real...he just drew you in. I also enjoyed him as an author. Along with Christopher Plummer one of Canada's best and a great loss to Canada. My deepest condolences to his family and his friends.

Barry, I was very sad to hear of your Dad’s passing. I will always remember him for his amazing performance in Away from Her. And of course his keen sense of humor.
He left his mark in this world.

I had the great good fortune of working with Gordon Pinsent on "John and The Missus" and "Away From Her". He was a consummate professional and loved by all who worked with him. I remember how he always went out of his way to make people feel comfortable and bring a smile to their face. He left a wonderful legacy and will remain one of Canada's national treasures.
