Gordon Joel Rosenthal was born on May 6th, 1962, to George and Agnes (Krueger) Rosenthal. He grew up in Perham, MN and graduated from Perham High School in 1980. Gordy and Julie moved to Willmar in 1984 where Gordy worked at Gold’s Turkey Farms. In 1989, they moved to Motley, MN and lived there briefly before finding their forever home in Staples. Gordy and his family owned and operated Staples Cinema, Four Roses Floral in Motley, and Rosenthal’s Greenhouse in Staples, MN. During the fall and winter months, Gordy worked at Walmart until he needed to start planting in the greenhouse.
As his children grew up, he was their biggest supporter with all of their sports and activities. Gordy enjoyed farming on his small hobby farm, fishing and going up to the woods to hunt every year with family. No matter where Gordy was, he was always up for a good conversation, and he enjoyed catching up with people at the greenhouse each year.
Gordy was truly a remarkable man whose memory will live on in the hearts of his family forever. He was a selfless man and his ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive and love will be forever remembered by all that he knew.
Gordy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julie (Sazama); children, Jacob (Chelsea) Rosenthal of Wadena, MN, Samantha Jo (Paul) Metzler of Becker, MN and Alexander Rosenthal of Staples, MN; grandchildren, Austin, Aiden, Lane, Brynlee, Ethan, Emmie, Elena, and Elizabeth; siblings, Kathy (Jim) Rutten of Staples, Gregory Rosenthal of Pelican Rapids, MN, Gary (Debra) Rosenthal of Staples, MN, Carol (Joe) Peeters of Dent, MN, Glen Rosenthal of Alexandria, MN; many nieces and nephews.
