Gorgees Mardo

Dr. Gorgees Mardo, was a father of seven, 2 sons and 5 daughters. A peaceful, kind and helpful person. He was a very capable scholar in Arabic and Chaldean languages. He was a deacon who served the Chaldean Catholic Church for more than fifty years. He received an honorary doctorate from Arab Open University of North America of Hamilton, Canada in recognition of his tremendous efforts in serving the great Chaldean community. He has published more than five hundred articles in newspapers and magazines and our community forums and participated in the first Chaldean conference in San Diego, CA in 2011. He also participated in the Chaldean National Conference under the patronage of His Excellency Bishop Mar Ibrahim Ibrahim. He authored five historical books about the history of the Chaldean and Assyrian people over thousands of years of coexistence.
