Grace Boorman Obituary
Grace was born on October 24th, 1928, in Iowa City to Harold & Agnes Miller. She met her one true love James Boorman and married him on January 2nd, 1948. Grace & Jim went on to raise eight children: James, Cathy, Robert, John, Jeffrey, Brett, Carol, & Laurie. Over the years, Grace's family grew to the point of having twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, & two great-great grandchildren. Grace enjoyed gardening, oil painting, & sewing; her favorite thing though was talking to her family & visiting friends. Grace also devoted her heart & soul to serving the Lord as a member to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Grace is survived by her children James Boorman, Robert (Donna) Boorman, John (Barbara) Boorman, Brett (Sara) Boorman, Carol Keith & Laurie Boorman; also survived by her Son-In-Law Charles Cowan & Daughter-In-Law Karen Boorman.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Brothers Kenneth & Harold Miller, Sisters Leila Kabela & Mildred Bream; Daughter Cathy Cowan, Son Jeffrey Boorman, & Son-In-Law Steve Keith.
Please join the family in celebrating the special life of Grace on Thursday, October 23 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City from 11:00am to Noon for the Visitation followed by the Funeral Service at Noon. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church or Iowa City Hospice.
