Grace Collins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ricketson Funeral Home - Douglas on Jan. 29, 2026.
Mrs. Grace Carver Collins, Age 88, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a recent illness.

Mrs. Collins, a native of Coffee County, was born October 9, 1937, to the late Alfred Carver and the late Velma Young Carver. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife and helpmate to her late husband, Russell Collins, who she shared 65 years of marriage prior to his passing last year. She was always ready for a shopping trip, a trip to the salon to have her hair and nails done, or to go out to eat with friends. Along with her late husband, she was an active member of College Avenue Baptist Church.

Mrs. Collins leaves behind her three daughters: Ann Tucker (Mickey) of Ambrose, Georgia, Jan Smith of Douglas, Georgia, Sonya Coleman of Douglas, Georgia; 6 grandchildren: Shannon Tucker (Mica), Jana Ricketson (Rex), Courtney Carr (Robby), and Haley Smith (Boris Escoto), all of Douglas, Georgia, along with Maci Robinson (Hunter) and Kameron Cole (Jasmine), both of Alma, Georgia; 8 great grandchildren: Carver Ricketson, Bentley Escoto, Channing Tucker, Gracie Carr, Aleah Escoto, Tucker Carr, Daxton Tucker, and Clara Jane Robinson; as well as a number of extended family members.

Mrs. Collins family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at College Avenue Baptist Church. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM at College Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Reagan and Rev. Jimmy Littlejohn officiating, and musical selections will be offered by Tami Aultman.

Active pallbearers will include Carver Ricketson, Tucker Carr, Kameron Cole, Bentley Escoto, Channing Tucker, and Shannon Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will include Mrs. Collins' close friends that she went out to eat with.
