Grace (Wynnell) Dorminey, age 96, of Moody, Alabama, formerly of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. She was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Janice Vagner. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny & Brenda Crowe Dorminey of Pigeon Forge, TN, Wayne Dorminey of Sylvester, GA, David & Suzanne Johnson Dorminey of Social Circle, GA, and daughter, Janice Dorminey Vagner of Moody, AL, 6 grandchildren, Duane Dorminey, Wesley Dorminey (Melanie), Robert Kelly (Dena), Jason Wideman (Rebecca), Marsha Willoughby, Brittany Dorminey and Nicholas Stone (Morgen), 8 great grandchildren, Celeste Wideman, Stormy, Grace, Dylan & Paige Willoughby, Cole & Katie Kelly, Libby & Andrew Dorminey and her two beloved sisters, Marian & Carolyn Barnes as well as many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Dennis Hall, sister, Winifred Norman, 2 brothers, Roscoe and Max Hall, and her loving husband of 61 years, Gus D. Dorminey on September 20, 2009, daughter, Lynn Wideman, granddaughters, Dena Dorminey Kelly & Katie Dorminey. Wynnell was born in Moultrie, GA on January 23, 1929. She grew up in South Georgia and after marrying Gus, they moved several times for his job but considered Lawrenceville, GA their home. For many years, she and Gus were active members of First Baptist Church of Grayson and enjoyed worshipping and traveling with the friends from Grayson. The foundation of her life was faith and family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, growing vegetables and flowers, and quilting and crocheting. A Funeral Service to Honor and Remember the Life of Mrs. Dorminey will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 1:00P.M. at Tom M. Wages – Lawrenceville Chapel, 120 Scenic Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30045 with Ralph Burton officiating, longtime family friend. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24th from 12:00PM until the time of the service at 1:00PM. A private interment will be held at Gwinnett Memorial Park.
