Grace L. (Jones) Izor

88, of Franklin, went Home to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 20th, 2025.

She was born April 14, 1937 in Pioneer, Louisiana to the late Dewey, Sr. and MaryAnn “Beattie” (McMillon) Jones.

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Izor; sons, John Edward Izor and Stephen Thomas Izor; sister, Jewel Key; and brother, Dewey Jones, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra K. (Steve) Rose; son, Philip (Phyllis) Izor; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Grace, lovingly known to many as “Granny,” was a woman whose life bloomed with kindness, faith, and joy. With a green thumb that seemed almost magical, she could coax beauty from the smallest beginnings, famously growing a flourishing bush from a single rose stem. Her flower beds and vegetable gardens were her happy place, where she spent countless hours nurturing life, much like she did with everyone around her.

Granny was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her infectious laugh. She found joy in simple moments and had a way of making others smile without even trying. Her heart was as generous as her spirit was light, and she delighted in sharing that generosity through her baking. Cookies, brownies, cakes, and pies were lovingly prepared and often delivered to the Franklin Police Department, a small but meaningful way she showed appreciation and care for her community.

A faithful member of Abundant Life Tabernacle in Germantown for more than 20 years, Grace lived a life rooted in devotion. She embraced simplicity, choosing to focus on what mattered most, sharing the love, word, and life of Jesus with everyone she met. Her faith guided her actions, her kindness, and the quiet strength with which she lived.

Grace leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and faith. Her gardens will continue to bloom, her recipes will live on in the kitchens of those she loved, and her example of a life lived for Christ will remain in the hearts of many. Though she will be deeply missed, the seeds she planted in the lives of others will continue to grow for generations to come.

Contributions in Grace’s memory may be made to Aaron’s Garden Senior Living, 3712 Roosevelt Ave, Middletown, OH 45044 or to DayCity Hospice, 7601 Paragon Rd Suite 201, Dayton, OH 45459.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 27 from 12PM to 2PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 2PM with Pastor James Setser officiating. Grace will be laid to rest at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery beside her beloved husband, Harold.
