Grace Helen McKnight, born on March 20, 1936, in Scottsville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, nana, sister and aunt whose warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Grace graduated from Stillwater High School in 1954 and married the love of her life, Carl McKnight, on January 5, 1957, at Southside Baptist Church in Stillwater. Together they built a life filled with love and commitment. She was a pillar of faith, not only within her family but also in her community, as a dedicated member of Mehan Union Church where she served in various capacities. Grace’s commitment to her faith was evident in her daily life and interactions with others; to know her was truly to love her.

A proud mother, she is survived by her children, Connie Lowery and husband Dannie; Steven McKnight and wife Cheryl; Neal McKnight and wife Joni; and Greg McKnight and wife Ellen. Grace cherished her role as a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Valerie McKnight; Brandon McKnight and wife Allison; Jeremy Galloway and wife Kyla; Bryan Galloway and wife Ashley; Marshal Rosiere; Ashley McKnight and husband Drew; Whitney McKnight; Zachary McKnight and wife JJ; Isaac McKnight; Jaci McKnight; Nicholas McKnight and wife Sandie; Megan Taylor and husband Brandon; Kristen Stokes and husband Jarret; Adam McKnight and wife Samantha; and held close in her heart are her 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Edna Westfall; sister-in-law Bonnie Williams who, along with countless others, will deeply feel the absence of her loving presence.

Grace was preceded in death by her cherished husband Carl and her parents Will and Minnie Kendrick. She was also preceded by three brothers: R.H. Kendrick and wife Ruth; Robert Kendrick and wife Edna; and Bennie Kendrick and wife Betty; along with two sisters: Lorene Sadler and husband Eddie; and Cleo Garrett and husband Edward, and brother-in-law Danny Westfall.

Grace worked as a telephone operator in Tulsa before she had children. She was then a dedicated homemaker, Grace found joy in crocheting, gardening, embroidering, working on puzzles, and reading Christian novels and her Bible. She truly cherished time spent with her family, no matter the occasion—be it a holiday, birthday, or simply gathering to share love and laughter. She also worked for the Payne County voting poll during elections for many years. Her vibrant legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
