GRACEVILLE, FLORIDA...Grace Widner Oswalt, a resident of Graceville, Florida, died early Friday morning, January 21, 2022, at her home. She was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (EST), Sunday, January 23, 2022 in the Ft. Gaines Baptist Church, Ft. Gaines, Georgia, with Reverend Perry Hearn and Reverend Jeff Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Baptist College of Florida "Jerry Widner Scholarship Fund", 5400 College Drive, Graceville, FL 32440 or to the Ft. Gaines Baptist Church, P.O. Box 248, Ft. Gaines, GA 39851.
Mrs. Oswalt was born and reared near Colbert in Madison County, Georgia, daughter of the late Richard Brooks and Jennie Mae Cartledge Brooks. She lived in Donalsonville, Georgia and Riverview Forest on Lake Eufaula before moving to Graceville in 2018. Mrs. Oswalt received a nursing degree from Darton College in Albany, Georgia. She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Seminole County Health Department. Mrs. Oswalt was a member of the Ft. Gaines Baptist Church and the Damascus Baptist Church in Gracevlle. She was preceded in death by her deceased husband and the father of her children, Jerry L. Widner and two brothers, Dolph Brooks and James Brooks.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Dr. Jerry Oswalt, Graceville; a daughter, Michelle Widner Chewning (John), Canton, GA; and a son, Jerry Christopher Widner (Holly), Donalsonville, GA; two step-children, Deborah Jones, Graceville; and David Oswalt, Dothan; a sister, Geraldine McElreath (Jerry), Danielsville, Ga; three brothers, Richard Brooks, Athens, GA; Gerald Brooks (Diane), Bogart, GA; and David Brooks, Colbert, GA; seven grandchildren, Alex Robinett, Zachary Robinett, Jenny Chewning, Richard Chewning (Sharon), Katie Chewning, Lan Widner (Selena), and Ridge Widner (Yasmin); four step-grandchildren, Lauren Dunn, Ashleigh Jones, Brittany Jones and Sophie Oswalt; two step-great-grandchildren, Warren and Scarlett Dunn.

I remember my aunt grace and Jerry coming to Brooks family home in Colbert and them going to the Georgia bulldog football games her and Jerry loved the bulldogs and she was always so sweet to me she was my favorite aunt that I had on my dads side of family she will be missed love you aunt grace see you in heaven love Mitchell Brooks
