Grace R. Owen

I know Mrs. Owen is in Heaven right now, having a ball, seeing family and friends. She was a great landlady and always so kind and gracious to me. My prayers and condolences to the entire Owen family.

Dear Susan and family,
You may not remember me as I have been a French AFS exchange student in 1974/1975 in Christiana High School, hosted by SPRADLING family in Newark.
As recently retired in France and M. Kurt PEPPLER ' spouse (also CHS pupil at the time) since 2014, I wished to reconnect with" my roots " ,teachers and friends in Delaware. My Internet researches a few weeks ago shew me that, unfortunately, your Dad my history teacher at that time, had passed, but that your mother was in this world and still teaching computerizing at 98 of age! I was very impressed and sent an email to CHS in order to contact her if possible, but the school told me they didn't keep track of their former teachers. That's how I called NUMC on Sunday April 25th, and was informed by Ms the Reverend, that she had unfortunately leaved peacefully this world, on the previous Friday. I was absolutely sorry not being able to tell her directly how she and Mr Owen had played a determining part in my life with AFS in which they both had been so active, and their memorable teaching.
So I have to ask now the Upper to deliver my grateful thanks to both, and ask Him to keep a warm and serene place close to Him.
I send you and family all my sympathy for this loss: your mother was such an admirable person and carried with her smile the best love and sharing, that a human being should demonstrate.Thank you

Mrs. Owen was a wonderful teacher and friend. I am thankful we had a visit a few years back and we talked at length about school and how I have succeeded in business because of her teaching. She was my favorite teacher during my high school years. And I often thought of her and Mr Owen after I graduated. She was a wonderful kind-hearted person and will miss her. She wanted me to call her Grace but I just couldn't out of respect of her being my teacher. God bless you Mrs. Owen and I know that you will be a great teacher in Heaven.

Mrs. Owens was a wonderful teacher at CHS. I remember both she and her husband. Just a few years ago I saw her in Cafe Gelato and introduced my daughter to her. She was quite impressive as she was well into her 90's and she recalled me as a student and shared a few memories. Prayers for her family as she will surely be missed. She will always be remembered by all she touched.

I was so sorry to hear your precious Mother, Grace, has passed away. I remember her, as well as your Dad teaching at Christiana High School. Your Mother and Father will never be forgotten by all of their students they taught over the years. Keeping you and your family in my prayers during this difficult time. God Bless you all.

I saw your mother's name and remembered her as a friend of my mothers; Lynn Weber. I have fond thoughts of my mother talking about what a wonderful person Grace was and also a good friend. While I miss my mother very much; I try to celebrate her life and the imprint she left on others. Please know that the imprint of Grace Owens is still with us in this world even though her physical presence is not. Maybe our mothers are quilting and talking together!
