Grace Proctor Obituary

Grace Yvonne Proctor (Thomas), 76, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, following a myocardial infarction. Born in Mayo, Maryland, Grace was the daughter of Edward Thomas Sr. and Elmira Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Edward Thomas Jr., Nathaniel Thomas, Oscar Thomas, and Gilbert Thomas; and her sister, Patricia Richards. Grace was known throughout her life as a devoted caregiver. She dedicated herself to supporting family, friends, and neighbors with unwavering love and compassion. Her greatest passion was nurturing and educating children, helping them grow and flourish into confident adults. A firm believer that "it takes a village to raise a child," Grace poured endlessly into the lives of her nieces, nephews, and many others. For the past three years, she and her husband were blessed to love and care for Ma'Xuri Rose Sartorial-Isaacs from birth, cherishing her as a granddaughter. In addition to her devotion to others, Grace enjoyed art, singing, reading, writing, watching old westerns, and indulging in a bit of retail therapy. In 2013, Grace married the love of her life, Moses Proctor. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, support, and companionship. In addition to Moses, she leaves behind her two sisters, Lucille Brown and Lillian Adams. Grace's legacy extends far beyond her immediate family. She will be fondly remembered by her stepchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, generosity, and care. The family wishes to extend special gratitude to those who remained faithfully by her side throughout the years: her niece, Sharon Rumph, Mr. Steve Schmidt and Dr. Liz Schmidt and their son, Max and her dear friend, Shirley Wilson. In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held. May her memory be a lasting blessing and her spirit live on in all who were privileged to know and love her.
