ALBANY – Grace Kathleen Shillinglaw, 83, passed away peacefully on June 19th 2025 after a long illness. Born in Albany NY, Grace was the daughter of the late Bernard DiPace and Catherine Igo DiPace, and the wife of the late Perry Shillinglaw for 37 years. Employed as a Purchasing Agent with the New York State Department of Corrections prior to her retirement in 2004, Grace was an avid gardener, a long-time New York State Rose Society judge, and enjoyed a good round of golf. Most of all, Grace was our heart and home and she truly loved taking care of her family, along with her many dogs and cats.
Grace was the beloved mother of Ralph, John, Kevin, Kim (Dawn Oliver) and the late Mark Bellanger, step-mother to Christopher Shillinglaw (Janna) and Heather Shillinglaw Johnson (Matthew); grandmother of Nicole, Jennifer, Bridget, Morgan, Margaret and Shaun Bellanger, Evelyn and Daniel Shillinglaw, and the late Rebecca Bellanger Halasz; great-grandmother of Grace Betzweiser, Damie and Cara DeCan, Kailee Bellanger and Christopher Sherrod; sister of Robert DiPace (Christine), Bernard DiPace (Carol), Patricia Briggs (Dean), Kathleen Newcomb (Dave), Peter DiPace, Leonardn Dipace (Ruth), Paula Dipace (Dale), Debra DiPace (Matt) the late Daniel DiPace (Lori). She is also survived by an incredibly large number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family is planning a Memorial Service at a future date.
