Grady Camp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waller Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 3, 2025.
Grady Eugene Camp, 95, went to be with the Lord in Abbeville, Mississippi, on December 1, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Friendship, Tennessee, on September 15, 1930, to William Luther and Alice Adel Camp.
Grady proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his military service, he began a distinguished 33-year career with Memphis Light, Gas and Water of Memphis, TN where he rose from mechanic to supervisor through hard work, dedication, and integrity.
In 1968, Grady was ordained to the ministry, beginning a remarkable 55-year journey of faithful service. He was a devoted member of Raleigh Primitive Baptist Church in Raleigh, Tennessee. He pastored at Raleigh Primitive Baptist Church for 37 years. He also shepherded the congregation at New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church in New Albany, Mississippi, for 7 years. His ministry touched countless lives, offering guidance, comfort, and steadfast faith to all who knew him.
Grady is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marjorie Craig Camp; his caregivers/nephew and niece, Jerry Lee Graham and Mary Taylor; along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved him dearly, and all of which helped when needed. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Rita Sue Camp, Doris Lorene Camp, and Carolyn Jane Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, W. L. "Billy" Camp, Jack Dempsey Camp, Ray Durward Camp, Otha McAlister Camp, Joe Von Camp, and Weldon Neal Camp, and three sisters, Dorothy Mary Poindexter, Mary Frances Tweedy, and Lola Katheryn Burke.
A celebration of Grady's life will be held in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home on December 5, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Elder Jerry Wise and Elder Mark Quarles, and Elder Donnie McPherson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 A.M. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity or church of your choice, honoring his lifelong commitment to faith and service.
Grady's legacy is one of love, faith, and devotion. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant enter into the joy of thy Lord." - Matthew 25:21
