Grady Lee Gilbert was born on July 17, 1943, in Centerville, Tennessee, to the late Willie Tom and Lola Mae Murray Gilbert. He entered into rest on September 30, 2025, in Pleasantville, Tennessee, at the age of 82. In addition to his parents, Grady was preceded in death by his sister, Fredia Bennett, and his brothers, Conrad "Pete" Gilbert, Gerald Gilbert, Jimmie Gilbert, and Walter Gilbert. He is survived by his loving wife, Myra Janice Buckingham Gilbert; daughters, Wendy (Bob) Qualls, Jessica (Bryan) Barnett, and Tina Pulley; sisters, Ann McNabb Bryant, Shirley Mayberry, and Linda Halbrooks; brothers, John Gilbert, Bobby Gilbert, Leon Gilbert, Samuel Gilbert, Ronnie Gilbert, Larry Gilbert, and Dwayne Gilbert; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. From a young age, Grady developed a strong work ethic that guided him throughout his life. He found joy in working with his hands and took great pleasure in the beauty of nature, especially in listening to turkeys, deer, and squirrels. Above all, Grady loved the Lord and his family. His faith, devotion, and kindness will be remembered always. Grady will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. McDonald Funeral home is honored to be serving the Gilbert family.
